EDV-PSEC Printing Services

PROCEDURE, CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS

  • This service is offered to all 2010 PSEC members in good standing. Dry pastel must be the medium used to a minimum of 90% of the painted surface. No oil pastels or mixed media.
  • Original artwork only: copies or compositions made from published photos or done under teacher's supervision are not accepted.
  • PSEC will receive a small commission for each printed product. This commission will finance different PSEC activities (ex. the workshop on artwork photography)
  • No modifications will be accepted after the final approbation of the prints.
  • The prices are guaranteed for one year.
  • The CD will be returned with the delivery of your order.
  • Éditions De Villers (EDV) and PSEC reserve the right to refuse any image that does not meet the above criteria.

    b) Your artwork CD
    c) A photocopy of your PSEC 2010 membership card (in good standing)

  4. As soon as EDV receives your order form, an employee will contact you to confirm your order.
  5. Before printing your order, a proof of each print will be mailed to you in order to obtain your final approval.
  6. After your approval, EDV will send you an invoice. You can make the payment by cheque to the order of "Les Éditions De Villers".

Important : To abide by the publisher's conditions, take note that the cards will have two different backs:

The second back: For all other members, the back will include the artist's coordinates and the mention that the artist is a PSEC member. See the example below:

PROCEDURE: DIGITAL IMAGE AND PHOTOS

  1. All images must be in JPG (jpeg) or TIF (tiff) only, compatible with PC. Minimum resolution of 300 dpi. No other format will be accepted.
  2. The artwork alone should appear on the screen. No reflections, no frame. The sharpness of the image is very important to the printer.
  3. Clearly identify your CD. The digital files must be identified with your name and your files' titles. Print clearly.
  4. Only the files for the cards to be printed must be on the CD. The files must be identified like this: LastName_FirstName_The_Title_CardDimensions_Disposition_Qty.jpg

    example 1 : picasso_pablo_demoiselles_davignon_5X7_hor_qte_100.jpg
    example 2 : picasso_pablo_maya_a_la_poupee_5X7_vert_qte_200.jpg

Important : Only small or uppercase letters, numbers, underlining ( _ ) and hyphens ( - ) are accepted.

Not accepted: Accent on letters (é, É,à, À, ç, Ç, etc.) and special characters such as @, ‘, ;, », (, )... because the printer's software cannot read them.

Include a good quality glossy paper printed photo approximately 5x7" for each work. The artwork must be seen completely, in this way some blank may appear on the 5x7" printed photo. Identify each picture on the back with name, title and signature. Your signature certifies that the image is as close as possible to the original work. The photo serves as reference for adjusting computer screens.

Don't forget: Be sure that your signature is at least ¾ inches from the edge of your pastel. (Additionnal fees will be charged if the printer has to retouch the work).

Suggestions: Print your photos from the same files that you will send to the printer. These photos will represent your future cards.
