We will organise for you a 10-day stay in Italy, arriving Saturday 18 August at Pisa airport, leaving Tuesday 28 August from Pisa airport.
On Saturday 18 August you will be picked up from Pisa airport and taken to the watermill for your painting week.
On Saturday 25 August you will be taken to Pisa train station and put on a train to Florence.
In Florence you will stay at a 3-star hotel in the historic centre.
On Tuesday 28 August you will be put back on the train to Pisa airport in time for you to catch your flight out. A guide will be provided for us at various times, and we'll have time to roam around on our own in Florence for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
For centuries artists have drawn inspiration from the Tuscan landscape and you could find few better places to enjoy art and improve your skills than the beautiful historic watermill, set beside the curving banks of a river in a gentle, wooded valley. You'll paint in and around the mill and in its studio, and you'll be transported to stunning locations in the unspoilt Lunigiana, Tuscan countryside. After our week at the mill, you'll be taken by train to Florence and stay in a 3-star hotel for three nights, and have the services of our own personal guide,( to see her and hear about Florence and it's museums, go to www.watermill.net), as well as lots of spare time to paint, shop, or just relax.
Margaret will be painting primarily in pastel and perhaps oils. Other mediums are accepted, but most people will be working in pastel. Margaret will meet and guide each student individually, with the focus on drawing and composition, and pastel technique. For more information on the art side of this trip please contact Margaret Ferraro at margferraro@xplornet.ca, or go to her website www.ferraro-art.com. Our host at the Watermill, Lois Breckon speaks French fluently, and is happy to assist anyone with further questions, or to book your spot. She can be reached through the watermills website, www.watermill.net
