Faye Helena Khazam (formerly a UK barrister and Senior Crown Counsel, HK) has been painting full time since 2005 and has shown and sold her work in solo and group exhibitions primarily in Montreal, although she started painting in Hong Kong in 1985.
The decision to paint full-time came through a car accident and numerous surgeries, which resulted in her leaving work. Painting then became a full time occupation.
Since 2007, her primary mediums have been watercolour and pastel, working both mainly with a limited palette of analogous colours. She is comfortable working realistically or in abstract form in both mediums, and has recently been exploring her capabilities in both watercolour and pastel while working paintings “in series” as well as experimenting with new papers and supports from Europe.
In August 2008 she was awarded First Prize in the Mount Royal Annual Cemetery Art Exhibition where her paintings were described as having “a strong narrative that resonates beyond the picture frame”. In 2010, she was accepted as an invitee by the Canadian Watercolour Society.
This year (November 2010) will be the second year she has exhibited with “Les Pastellists” through the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada. She will be exhibiting pastels and watercolours with a small gallery in London, Ontario in January 2011.

- June 2010, Six pastel portraits for Yeshiva University (New York), Honourary Degree Convocation. These included The Honourable Madame Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella and The Honourable Senator Linda Frum, writer and journalist.
