Kathryn Morris Trainor has been working as a teacher, graphic artist and painter for the past 35 years. She is a founding member and 2-term President of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada.
After graduating from William Paterson University in New Jersey, she taught fine arts at White Plains High School in New York for two years before moving to Montreal, Quebec, where she entered the field of Graphic Arts and had a successful career as a Designer, Illustrator and Art Director.
After 9 years as the successful owner of the Morris Trainor Gallery in Kennebunkport, Maine, she closed the gallery and is now looking forward to reconnecting with her artistic self, which was overwhelmed by the everyday running of her business.
Her work has been published in the International Pastelist and International Artist Magazines and hangs in many private homes, professional offices and corporate boardrooms throughout Canada and the U.S. She is also a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine.
In July, 2007, Kathryn was honored by having her painting “Friendly Flags” presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a gift from the then residing President George W. Bush in commemoration of the summit meeting held in Kennebunkport, Maine. The painting hangs in the office of President Putin.
