Artistic Process
From 1970 to 2004, I taught art in high school. I took courses in various artistic disciplines including painting, watercolor, silk screening, pottery, enamels on copper etc.
And in 1980, I enrolled in the first certificate in visual arts from the University of Quebec in area.
In 1986, I met the pastel Master Max Stiebel who introduced me to soft pastels. And since, I then have never ceased to improve this technique with Canadian and American Masters (Daniel Green, Ben Konis, Christina Debarry, Dave Beckett and Albert Handell).
Being a member signature of the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada and Prime honoured in Canada by the Pastel Society of Canada, I regularly attend their annual events and the competition jury allowed me to exibit New York, Florida, Santa Fe, Vancouver, Ottawa, Portugal, Czech Republic and Pons in France. Since 1990, these societies have honoured me with several prizes and awards including 6 first prizes.
My style is realistic and I am not trying to evade the observable reality. In my landscapes, as in my portraits, I work to improve the spatial organization, richness of color, atmosphere and emotion that can be discerned.
Retired from teaching since 2005, full of energy and projects, I finally moved in a large 24 X 26’ studio on the 2th floor of my spouse’s workshop. I work daily on my production, management and supervision of my work.
