Our mission

The Pastel Society of Eastern Canada was founded in Montreal in 1995. Our Society is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS), The Pastel Society of America (PSA), and Pastel Artists Canada (PAC).

PSEC is a non-profit organization constituted of both professional and amateur pastel artists. The aims of the organization are as follows:

  1. To promote and encourage artistic activities, and public awareness and appreciation of the arts in the pastel medium;
  2. To inform the public about the pastel milieu by sponsoring and promoting members' exhibitions and other appropriate means for educating the public in the field of pastel;
  3. To provide opportunities for the advancement of artistic skills via workshops, conferences, seminars and publications.

Our association is run by an executive committee elected every two years at the annual assembly. You can find the chairpersons for the current year on our Contact Us page.
