The Executive Committee wishes to warmly thank Suzanne Godbout for her valuable contribution at the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada throughout her term as President. Ms. Godbout transfers the "crown" to Reine Goodrow.

On April 23rd 2011, France Clavet was received as «academician» and was awarded the ACADEMIA XXI trophy for her artistic process and the quality of her pictorial work at the Gala de l’Académie Internationale des Beaux Arts du Québec biennial.

Jean Gareau will be exhibiting about twenty paintings at the Galerie Étienne de Causans, in Paris, from  April 2 to 16, 2011.

Carl Desrosiers got another honourable mention this year, in the Landscape and Interior category of the 12th Annual Pastel 100 for the pastel painting entitled 'One Night on de la Montagne St.', that will be published in the April 2011 edition of The Pastel Journal.

(2010-05-31) - Guest of honour: the renowned pastel artist Sally Strand was in Montréal and Québec in May to give a few workshops organized by PSEC.

(2010-01-03) - Sylvie Vezeau has received an Honorable Mention at the AAPARS (Association des Artistes affiliés de la Rive-Sud) contest-exhibtion held at the Centre Marcel-Dulude, in St-Bruno, last October.

(2010-01-03) - Carl Desrosier' pastel painting entitled «Ruelle à Barcelone» will be featured in April 2010 edition of the Pastel Journal. He will receive an honorable mention in Landscape & Interior category of this 11th Annual Pastel 100 Publication. This will be his 6th awarded painting in Amercian magazines.

(2009-06-30) - Carl Desrosier has received an honourable mention at the 10th Annual Pastel 1000 Competition of Pastel Journal in the Portrait & Figure category for his pastel painting «Nearing Evening».

(2009-06-30) - Two PSEC's ambassadors, Lise Clément and Gaëtane Dion, participated in the 1st international pastel exhibition of Oviedo, in Spain last, March. Gaëtane was also selected for the international exhibition in Giverny, in France, which just took place in June.

(2009-06-30) - A group exhibition of representational art, featuring a few of our members, among which Reine Goodrow and Michel Raymond, will take place from October 2nd to December 13th at Musée Laurier in Victoriaville - Hôtel des Postes pavillon.

(2009-06-16) - PSEC was represented by Suzanne Godbout and Reine Goodrow at the IAPS Convention at Albuquerque, New Mexico, in May.

(2009-06-08) - Ino Algranti will have one of his pastel painting printed in Magazinart which will be available in July.

(2009-02-07) - Patrice Landry just published his first novel at Éditions Minamots. Furthermore, two of his short stories were featured in the French literary magazine «Biscuit Chinois».

(2009-01-01) - Our Master Pastellist, Horace Champagne, is now featured in a fabulous DVD where he shares some of his secrets in pastel painting.

(2009-01-01) - Suzanne Godbout will be invited quest artist at the Open workshop in Beloeil, February 2nd, where she will do a still life using her technique.

(2009-01-01) - Guylaine Jacques received the Groupe Action Tandem mention, in the Jury's Coup de coeur, during the Symposium d'arts visuels ARTS ET RIVES of Lac Etchemin last September.

(2009-01-01) - Carmen Caron Lafrance was awarded Public's Choice during Granby's exhibition Couleurs urbaines, early August and both Public's Choice and 2nd juried prize at the Symposium Waterloo et l'art d'aimer, at the end of August.

(2009-01-01) - Caroline Guernon was selected by jury to be published as a pastellist following a contest ("Nos lecteurs ont du talent"). Her work will be seen in French art magazine Pratique des Arts (no.81).
